How much do part time federal government jobs pay per hour?

As of Jul 4, 2026, the average hourly pay for part time federal government in the United States is $31.16, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $16.35 and $41.35 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

How to make 2000 a week working from home?

Part time federal government jobs typically do not pay $2000 weekly due to their part-time nature and standardized pay scales. To earn higher income from home, consider roles such as remote contract work, freelance consulting, or specialized remote positions that require relevant skills and certifications, which can offer higher pay based on experience and workload.

What is the easiest federal job to get?

The easiest federal jobs to obtain are often entry-level positions such as clerical, administrative support, or customer service roles, which typically require minimal specialized skills or experience. These jobs usually have straightforward application processes and may not require advanced certifications, making them accessible for many applicants. However, competition can vary depending on the position and location.

What should I expect in terms of work schedule and flexibility in a part time federal government position?

Part time federal government jobs typically offer set weekly hours, ranging between 16 to 32 per week, often with a consistent schedule; however, some positions may provide limited flexibility depending on agency needs and the specific role. You may work mornings, afternoons, or specific days of the week, and requests for schedule adjustments or remote work are handled according to government policies. While deadlines, teamwork, and protocol adherence remain important, part time staff often experience a supportive environment with clearly defined duties. This structure can be ideal for those seeking work-life balance, supplemental income, or a gradual introduction to federal service.

What is a Part Time Federal Government job?

A Part Time Federal Government job is a position within a federal agency that requires fewer hours than a full-time role, typically less than 40 hours per week. These positions may offer flexible schedules and are available in various fields, including administration, law enforcement, and healthcare. While part-time employees may receive some benefits, such as prorated leave and federal retirement contributions, they may not be eligible for full benefits like health insurance. Part-time federal jobs can be competitive and often require U.S. citizenship, background checks, and specific qualifications.

What jobs pay 4000 a week without a degree?

Part-time federal government jobs that pay $4,000 a week without a degree are rare, as most government roles require specific qualifications or experience. High-paying temporary or contract positions in areas like consulting, cybersecurity, or specialized administrative roles may reach this level, often requiring relevant skills, security clearances, or certifications. Generally, such high earnings are more common in freelance or independent contractor work rather than traditional part-time government jobs.

Can I work part-time for the federal government?

Yes, the federal government offers part-time positions in various agencies, often requiring specific qualifications and security clearances. These roles can include flexible schedules and are available in many fields, but applicants should review individual job announcements for eligibility and requirements.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Part Time Federal Government position, and why are they important?

To succeed in a part time federal government role, candidates generally need strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow procedures, often supported by a high school diploma or relevant experience. Familiarity with government record-keeping systems, office software such as Microsoft Office Suite, and, for some roles, security clearance, is frequently required. Strong communication, reliability, and adaptability help individuals work effectively within structured teams and diverse workplace cultures. These skills ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance in fulfilling vital government functions on a part-time basis.
