Job description

Are you looking for part or full-time seasonal accounting work at a certified Great Place to Work? SVA has a fantastic and flexible opportunity based out of our Madison, WI or Brookfield, WI locations for someone to join our team as a seasonal tax reviewer (typically January through April). This position will be responsible for reviewing tax returns and reviewing client documentation. This role requires knowledge of federal and state individual income tax regulations and experience preparing and/or reviewing tax returns. Training on SVA software and processes is provided, but a comfort level with technology is a must, including experience preparing returns online.  Specific responsibilities include:

100% Client Work

  • Review documentation submitted by client for inclusion in federal and state tax returns.
  • Review income tax returns to ensure accuracy in an efficient manner.
  • Communicate with internal tax leaders to provide a complete work product.
  • Work efficiently with electronic documents using designated computer applications.
  • Maintain confidentiality with client information in accordance with related laws and regulations and adhere to all SVA policies and procedures.
  • All other duties as assigned.

This position reports to an in-charge accountant and/or the firm’s principals.  This position does not have supervisory responsibility, but will provide staff feedback to those preparing assigned work.

Seasonal Tax Reviewers typically start working around the end of January through approximately April 15 and may return each year depending on SVA's needs and the preparer's availability. After some initial training, hours are flexible and this position could work between 20-40+ hours/ week depending on availability.
