VMD Corp an Xcelerate Solutions company has an exciting opportunity for you to join as a Talent Acquisition Specialist in our San Francisco, CA office. The Talent Acquisition Specialist performs full-cycle recruiting, primarily hiring Transportation Security Officers at San Francisco International Airport (SFO), with occasional hiring support at other airports across the United States. Partner with VMD operation leaders, managers, and supervisors on day to day current and future hiring needs. Work in a team of driven, supportive, and highly skilled professionals who excel in working together.
In this role, you'll have the opportunity to:
  • Closely monitor, track, and manage a consistent pipeline of candidates for VMD's largest business division.
  • Facilitate candidates through a consistent recruiting process; work with third party vendors to track and monitor testing results; work collaboratively with other business units including Security, Human Resources, and Operations to manage interviews, medical testing, generate offer letters.
  • Monitor and track candidate hiring trends and consult with Operations and make recommendations for continuous improvement and continuous development.
  • Coordinate with operations to drive successful Job fairs and mass interview sessions.
  • Communicate directly with candidates on the status of their application.
  • Work with the Recruiting Manager to lead weekly recruiting discussions with Operations teams.

Experience Needed to Be Successful:
  • At least 2 years of experience working in a professional business environment, preferably in government contracting or related services environment.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Task oriented, highly organized, and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong desire and willingness to call prospective candidates.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain professional relationships.
  • You are highly organized with a keen eye for detail.
  • You have a customer first approach.
  • Ability to pass a government background check after starting.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:
  • Demonstrated knowledge of California employment laws and regulations, including wage and hour compliance, leave laws, employee classification, and workplace standards.
  • Prior experience working in a unionized environment, with understanding of collective bargaining agreements (CBAs), grievance processes, and labor-management dynamics.
  • Previous experience with hourly wage employment.
  • Understanding of employment types (full-time, part-time, regular, temporary, etc..) and how employment status affects benefit offerings.
