Overview โ€“ Litigation Paralegal Supervisor

A respected national law firm is seeking a highly skilled Litigation Paralegal Supervisor to join its collaborative and fast-paced litigation team. This hybrid role combines sophisticated litigation support responsibilities with operational leadership, offering the opportunity to mentor paralegals, oversee workflow coordination, and support high-profile litigation matters from inception through trial.


The ideal candidate is a proactive legal professional who thrives in a team-oriented environment and enjoys balancing hands-on case work with leadership and operational responsibilities. This position offers significant visibility within the firm and the opportunity to contribute to process improvements, training initiatives, and departmental operations while working alongside accomplished attorneys and legal professionals.


Key Responsibilities โ€“ Litigation Paralegal Supervisor

  • Provide senior-level litigation support across all phases of complex commercial litigation matters, including case management, discovery, trial preparation, and filings
  • Mentor and support paralegals on workflow management, case organization, prioritization strategies, and departmental best practices
  • Coordinate onboarding and training initiatives for new paralegals, reinforcing firm procedures, litigation workflows, and operational standards
  • Partner with management to oversee case staffing assignments, workload distribution, and resource allocation across the litigation support team
  • Draft, prepare, proofread, and file legal documents for hearings, depositions, arbitrations, mediations, and trial proceedings
  • Manage discovery processes, including document review coordination, privilege logs, exhibit preparation, and vendor communication
  • Prepare attorneys for court appearances, hearings, and trial proceedings by organizing exhibits, witness materials, trial binders, and logistical support
  • Maintain litigation calendars, monitor deadlines, and ensure compliance with court rules, scheduling orders, and judgesโ€™ individual practices
  • Coordinate electronic court filings through federal and state e-filing systems, including ECF and NYSCEF platforms
  • Collaborate with attorneys, litigation support teams, and firm leadership to identify workflow enhancements and operational efficiencies
  • Assist with departmental initiatives, process improvements, and special projects related to litigation operations and team management


Qualifications โ€“ Litigation Paralegal Supervisor

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree or Paralegal Certificate required
  • 5+ years of litigation paralegal experience, preferably within a large law firm or sophisticated litigation practice
  • Strong understanding of litigation procedures, court filing requirements, and judgesโ€™ individual rules and practices
  • Experience supporting complex litigation matters through discovery, trial preparation, and case resolution
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, iManage, and electronic filing systems including ECF and NYSCEF
  • Familiarity with legal research platforms such as Lexis, Westlaw, and PACER, as well as litigation support software including Relativity and Adobe Acrobat
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, and multitasking abilities with strong attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated ability to mentor junior staff and collaborate effectively across teams
  • Ability to manage competing deadlines and perform effectively within a fast-paced, deadline-driven legal environment
