JOB PURPOSE
The DHRC Outreach Coordinator serves as a key public-facing representative of the Dolores Huerta Resource Center (DHRC), a one-stop, multi-generational resource hub dedicated to empowering individuals and families through accessible services, education, workforce opportunities, technology access, health and wellness resources, arts and culture programming, and stabilization support. This role strengthens DHRC's visibility, accessibility, and community engagement through hands-on outreach, tabling events, neighborhood partnerships, and public engagement activities while supporting contractual outreach deliverables established in partnership with the City of North Las Vegas. All outreach is conducted using a trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and community-centered approach.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Outreach, Events & Community Engagement
  • Coordinate, schedule, and manage DHRC's outreach calendar within the Outreach Coordinator's defined scope, including tabling events, community fairs, workshops, presentations, neighborhood events, and partner activities
  • Serve as a professional and welcoming representative of DHRC at community events, public meetings, and public functions within assigned outreach responsibilities
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with schools, nonprofits, government agencies, neighborhood associations, businesses, faith-based organizations, and community partners
  • Identify and develop new outreach opportunities that increase community awareness and engagement with DHRC services
  • Support outreach initiatives connected to DHRC's core service areas including Education, Workforce Development, Technology Access, Health & Wellness, Legal and Community Resource Navigation, and Arts & Culture
  • Conduct culturally responsive outreach efforts that effectively engage North Las Vegas' diverse and multilingual communities
  • Coordinate logistics for outreach and community engagement activities including transportation, setup, breakdown, and maintenance of outreach equipment and supplies
  • Ensure outreach materials remain organized, updated, stocked, and aligned with DHRC and TJOP branding standards
  • Coordinate staffing support and volunteer participation for larger events as needed
  • Provide community members with information about DHRC programs, services, and partner resources
  • Support referrals and warm handoffs to DHRC staff and partner agencies when appropriate
  • Promote a welcoming, trauma-informed, and community-centered environment during all public interactions
  • Assist in capturing community engagement content for social media, outreach campaigns, and public awareness efforts in coordination with DHRC and TJOP marketing staff
  • Assist with collecting photos, testimonials, and outreach content for marketing and reporting purposes
Reporting, Collaboration & Accountability
  • Track, document, and report on outreach activities, attendance, referrals, and community engagement outcomes within the Outreach Coordinator's own scope of work
  • Reports are submitted to the DHRC Program Manager and do not encompass organization-wide or director-level outreach activities
  • Prepare regular outreach reports and summaries for DHRC leadership and City of North Las Vegas reporting requirements
  • Maintain accurate records of outreach contacts, partnerships, and event participation
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date program spreadsheets and shared tracking tools to support data integrity and program reporting
  • Meet regularly with the Program Manager to align outreach activities with organizational priorities and contractual deliverables
  • Collaborate with The Just One Project Marketing Manager on outreach campaigns, promotional materials, social media coordination, and community messaging
  • Coordinate with the City of North Las Vegas Community Outreach Manager on collaborative initiatives and citywide engagement efforts within assigned scope
  • Communicate community needs, trends, and feedback to DHRC leadership to support continuous program improvement
  • Participate in staff meetings, planning sessions, and cross-functional collaboration efforts
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support DHRC operations and community impact goals

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in community outreach, public engagement, nonprofit services, event coordination, or a related field.
  • Valid Nevada driver's license with a clean driving record; reliable personal transportation required.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace and basic reporting and data tracking systems.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish required given the demographics of the community served.

Preferred

  • Experience working in a nonprofit, municipal, education, or community resource environment.
  • Familiarity with North Las Vegas communities and local service networks.
  • Experience with outreach reporting systems, CRM platforms, or community engagement tracking tools.
  • Experience supporting social media outreach or community marketing initiatives.

WORK SCHEDULE AND CLASSIFICATION
  • This position is scheduled Tuesday through Saturday, approximately 40 hours per week
  • Evening and weekend work is required based on outreach activities, community events, and operational needs
  • This position is classified as Non-Exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

This position requires regular travel throughout North Las Vegas and Southern Nevada to perform essential job duties including community events, outreach activities, partner locations, schools, and neighborhood gatherings. The DHRC Outreach Coordinator must possess a valid, unrestricted driver's license, maintain reliable personal transportation, and meet the organization's insurability requirements. Inability to travel to community locations is disqualifying for this role.
