Operations Technician Will:

  • Abide by our values and practices by:
  • Working in a safe & efficient manner
  • Providing superior customer service
  • Performing equipment and facility maintenance including housekeeping, daily maintenance checks, and basic maintenance as required
  • Support all aspects of Agronomy Operations
  • Manage ag chemicals and fertilizer.
  • Understand chemical rates, uses, and restrictions.
  • Responsible for loading, mixing, and injecting fertilizer with chemicals.
  • Responsible for loading and unloading chemicals with payloader and other equipment.
  • Prepare and review weekly inventory reports for distribution to accounting and team leaders on supplies, quality, and age of inventory.
  • Demonstrate work habits that develop, build, and support the team concept with AgState.
  • Meet with other supervisors, location leaders, and team leaders to determine various staffing needs, equipment and facility needs and monitor overall efficiency.
  • Perform general repairs at facilities such as patching small holes in spouts or fixing small bearings.
  • Support the elevator operations.
  • Receive, dry, blend, and load grain.
  • Measure grain inventory as needed.
  • Prepare grain rail cars and load cars according to specifications as needed.
  • Maintain grain conditions.
  • Assisting other locations, as needed
  • Other duties as assigned.

Operations Technicians Have:

  • Must have a valid state motor vehicle operatorโ€™s license.
  • Ability to obtain Class A CDL.
  • Ability to work overtime as required.
  • Good computer skills
  • One year of related experience and/or education preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to learn how to run the shuttle wagon and be trained in chemical repacking, heavy equipment usage, chemical mixing, and rationing.
  • HazMat is beneficial, but not necessary. Will train.
  • Chemical Handlerโ€™s license โ€“ 1A, 1B, and 1C โ€“ beneficial but not required โ€“ will train to obtain licensing.
