BuyWander is a fast-growing startup reimagining the $850B retail returns industry. We launched in 2024 to help Americans GET AHEAD!! by offering returned items through online auctions with local pick-up. Think: Black Friday meets a treasure hunt—powered by AI and built for everyday people.


We are expanding rapidly and looking for a Store Opening Task Force Coordinator to work with a team of employees to buildout and launch new store locations across the United States.


Our mission is simple: Help people win—shoppers, resellers, and retailers alike. Oh, and the Planet.


Our customers are everyday bargain hunters, resellers, and families looking for incredible deals on brand-name products.


This role is responsible for bringing new markets online — from store setup to operational launch.


What You’ll Do


Launch new markets

• Assist the rollout of new BuyWander store locations

• Physically prepare and stock the soon-to-be opening store

• Coordinate store buildouts, layouts, and equipment setup

• Ensure facilities are ready for inventory intake and auction operations

• Standardize safety procedures


Build operational systems

• Establish processing stations, storage areas, and material handling workflows

• Implement barcode systems and inventory tracking processes

• Coordinate with internal teams to integrate systems and workflows


Operationalize new facilities

• Work with General Managers and supervisors in setting up the store

• Help recruit and train early store staff

• Establish workflows and performance standards

• Ensure new locations are running smoothly before transitioning to local leadership


Solve problems quickly

• Identify operational bottlenecks during launches

• Implement improvements to increase throughput and efficiency

• Work closely with leadership to support rapid company growth

• Troubleshoot issues as they arise

• Turn over a functioning facility to the new General Manager



Requirements:

What We’re Looking For

• Strong operator mindset and ability to execute

• Experience in logistics, store operations, supply chain, or operations management

• Comfortable working in fast-paced startup environments

• Willingness to travel 75% of the time and spend time on-site during launches. Accommodations & Air/Car Travel Paid.

• Strong problem-solving and project management skills

• Flexibility

• Love of travel and meeting and working with a variety of people throughout the US


Preferred experience:

• Launching new facilities or operations

• Startup or high-growth company experience

• Store management systems or inventory systems

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

  • 4+ years of experience in warehouse, logistics, or retail operations supervisory experience
  • Energized by building from scratch—you thrive in startup chaos
  • Detail-obsessed but know how to prioritize what matters
  • Clear communicator and confident decision-maker
  • Comfortable with software, tech, computers (Shopify like software, barcoding tools, Google, internal dashboards)
  • Mission-driven—you believe in building something bigger than yourself


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • This role involves sustained physical activity. The following are bona fide requirements of the position:
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50-75 pounds repeatedly throughout the day.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and reach overhead frequently.
  • Ability to work at a fast pace in a goal-driven environment.
  • Position requires seeing, hearing, use of hands and fingers, sitting, standing, walking, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, squatting and stooping in the performance of daily activities.
  • Must be able to communicate with others including talking, hearing, and listening and exchanging communication.
