Operations Coordinator II

The Role

Under the general direction of the Program Director or Operation Coordinator I, the Operations Coordinator II (Senior Shift Supervisor), responsible for monitoring the shelter environment and specific program systems to ensure security, efficiency, and safety on assigned shifts. Responsibilities also include monitoring and enforcing the treatment services schedule of activities and additional events to make sure all services are delivered as scheduled and clients' external appointments are dispatched.  Will serve as lead to Shift Supervisors as needed. 

**Please Note: Candidates Must have FDNY F-80- Certificate of Fitness for Coordinator of Fire Safety and Alarm Systems.**


What You Will Do

  • Supervises and monitors the facility to ensure cleanliness, security, and safety practices are enacted and effective.
  • Supervises and monitors the therapeutic environment to ensure behavioral guidelines are followed, a therapeutic milieu is maintained, and interpersonal relationships remain positive.
  • Conducts fire and safety runs throughout the facility, ensuring all health and safety guidelines are adhered to.
  • Reviews the selection of client escorts for appointments to ensure the appropriateness of selection.
  • Reviews internal and external client appointments scheduled for that shift and ensures attendance.
  • Participates in any required training and passes certification including CPR/First Aid/Food Handler and F-80 Certification.
  • Ensures familiarity with daily program schedule of activities to ensure that events occur on time and all parties scheduled to attend, do so.

Who You Will Be

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.  
  • Must have at least one year of prior experience in a Shift Supervisor or House Manager role in a shelter/transitional or permanent supportive housing and experience working with the NYC Department of Homeless Services (DHS) or other similar city operated organization with previous management experience strongly preferred.
  • Must have FDNY F-80- Certificate of Fitness for Coordinator of Fire Safety and Alarm Systems.
  • Willingness to obtain CPR Certification while employed at SDV.
  • Willingness to obtain NYC Food Handler’s Certificate while employed at SDV for designated single sites and per needs of the program.
  • Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
