Job Overview
The Development Associate supports the Business and Development Director and President/CEO in advancing the mission of Paws Crossed Animal Rescue through strategic fundraising, donor engagement, and organizational support. This is a dynamic, development-driven role with meaningful responsibility across donor engagement, fundraising operations, and revenue-generating initiatives within a collaborative team environment where flexibility and initiative are essential.
While this role offers exposure to multiple areas of the Rescue, its primary focus is on development operations, donor relations, and revenue-generating initiatives.
List of some responsibilities (not fully inclusive):

  • Manage and maintain the donor database, ensuring all information is accurate, timely, and up to date
  • Correspond with donors across multiple channels, providing thoughtful stewardship and engagement
  • Assist in the planning and execution of fundraising events and campaigns
  • Support the development and implementation of donor outreach strategies
  • Research prospective donors, sponsors, grants, and funding opportunities
  • Assist with grant writing and reporting as needed
  • Perform data entry related to donations, financial tracking, and campaign performance
  • Collaborate with leadership on development initiatives and organizational priorities
  • Assist in social media initiatives and campaigns
Requirements

  • A strong passion for animal welfare
  • Proven experience in nonprofit management or development roles with familiarity in fundraising strategies and relationship management.
