Description

The Junior IT Help Desk position provides day-to-day technical support to employees and assists with maintaining the company's IT equipment, user accounts, software, and basic network infrastructure. This is an entry-level position designed for someone who is technically capable, service-oriented, and interested in developing their IT skills.


Requirements

Key Responsibilities

Help Desk & Employee Support

  • Provide Level 1 technical support to employees.
  • Troubleshoot Windows computers, laptops, printers, monitors, docks, and peripherals.
  • Troubleshoot Microsoft Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and other Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Assist users with password resets, MFA, login, and access issues.
  • Troubleshoot basic network, Wi-Fi, VPN, and connectivity issues.
  • Respond to and document IT support requests.
  • Escalate advanced issues when necessary.
  • Provide basic Microsoft 365 training to employees, including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Computer & Employee Support

  • Set up laptops and      workstations for new employees.
  • Configure computers with      required applications and company settings.
  • Maintain inventory of      laptops, monitors, phones, printers, and other IT equipment.
  • Prepare, issue, recover, and      redeploy equipment.
  • Assist with equipment      replacement and lifecycle management.
  • Maintain accurate asset      records.

Employee Onboarding & Offboarding 

  • Prepare IT equipment for new      hires.
  • Assist with creation and      configuration of user accounts.
  • Configure email, Teams,      OneDrive, printers, and required applications.
  • Remove or disable access      during employee offboarding.
  • Recover company-issued IT      equipment.

Microsoft 365 Administration Support

  • Assist with Microsoft 365      user administration.
  • Manage basic user, group,      mailbox, and license requests.
  • Assist with Microsoft Teams      and SharePoint permissions.
  • Support OneDrive      synchronization and file-access issues.
  • Assist with MFA and      security-related user issues.

Education and Experience:

  • 1-2 years of IT/help desk experience or equivalent technical training.
  • Basic knowledge of Windows 11.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365.
  • Basic understanding of networking, TCP/IP, Wi-Fi, and VPN.
  • Experience troubleshooting computers and peripherals.
  • Strong communication and customer-service skills.
  • Ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft certifications are a plus.  

Physical Requirements:

  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • Must be in good physical condition and have good motor skills.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Ability to function in work environment with moderate noise level from several sources creating constant activity.
