Job description

Context of the role
The Director, Commercial Network will be based in Miami, FL and will report to the Americas - Head of Network Development. The primary responsibility of this role is to own the strategic development and management of our network partnerships in the region, with commercial and operational development responsibilities. This individual will analyze, develop, target and deliver sustainable opportunities with our network partners through the execution of revenue-focused commercial strategies aimed to expand how we integrate and collaborate within our own Thunes proprietary network members.
The ideal candidate will be an individual who is highly motivated to expand Thunes money movement superhighway usage, possesses high energy and has a strong business acumen in the global cross-border space, along with a sharp ability to influence and drive collaboration required to materialize identified revenue-driven opportunities into actual long-lasting deals. In addition, he/she will be self-motivated to learn about Thunes global Network to be able to define how it can be best leveraged by regional partners to add value to their business.
Key Responsibilities
  • Drive strategic roadmap planning and execution of our revenue opportunities with network partners and FIs in the Americas region.
  • Identify network partner unmet outbound payment flow requirements, and apply his/her knowledge of the Thunes Network to solve existing money movement / cross-border needs
  • Lead deal execution and lifecycle management
  • Continue to sharpen the Thunes proprietary network to be the most commercially attractive in the market, from crossborder costs, to quality of service (QoS)
  • Work with our network partners, including, global and regional financial institutions, and payment service providers, to drive payment flows into the market through joint go-to market initiatives
  • Work with internal and external cross-functional stakeholders to drive operational excellence for the Thunes Network
  • Manage key partnership accounts at op co and group level for large FI groups

Professional Experiences and Qualifications
  • Has at least 8+ years of commercial experience working with financial institutions and cross-border payments companies across the region
  • A passion for solving commercial and operational problems
  • Great attention to details with methodical and data driven approach
  • Able to think outside of the box and utilize creativity to drive superior commercial outcomes and operational solutions
  • Background in consulting, investment banking or professional services e.g. law, big 4 is a huge plus
  • Fluent in English & Spanish, proficiency in Portuguese is a bonus
