Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Director National Account Services is responsible for overseeing all retention and revenue growth activities associated with the strategic management of in-force customers, contract renewal negotiations, contract management, growth and relationship development. The Director supervises, trains and continuously develops a team of account managers. This position is responsible for protecting existing client base, cultivating value-based relationships, growing revenue and creating a high performing workforce.
This role leads a West-Coast based team. Preferred candidates will reside in the California Bay Area or Greater Los Angeles area.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develops and executes a proactive strategic plan for existing clients.
  • Develops, trains and coaches Account Managers against established goals and objectives.
  • Translates strategy into action steps.
  • Collaborates with sales management to effectively present organization in market and further generate revenue.
  • Cultivates relationships with key groups and brokers.
  • Identifies best practices and works with appropriate leadership to remove obstacles to ensure that teams are fully functioning and revenue building goals and objectives are being met.
  • Partners with the Sales Directors in the acquisition and implementation of new business.
  • Develops annual department budgets, monitors variances and takes corrective actions as appropriate.
  • Oversees SalesForce updates to assure maintenance of comprehensive and accurate data.
  • Models Performance Consulting acumen and coaches their team to engage in this manner at all times- internal and external.
  • Performs other duties as requested or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • 12+ years of related experience w/bachelor's degree, including 3+ years management
  • 5 years of experience in the employee benefits industry is required.
  • Ability to motivate, inspire and coach teams to successful completion of goals.
  • High comfort level providing and seeking transparent feedback on performance and development opportunities.
  • Ability to negotiate with brokers and top level clients.
  • Strong organizational, time management and multi-tasking abilities.
  • Strong presentation, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of the healthcare industry.
  • Experience in SalesForce, MS Office.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
  • Obtain and maintain a Life and Health Insurance License.

Base Pay Information
The national base pay range at the end is a good-faith estimate of what Delta Dental may pay for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on Delta Dental's assessment of the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, certifications and ability to meet required minimum job qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include prevailing wages in the work location and internal equity.
