Job description

Summary

The Senior Clinical Applications Associate provides comprehensive technical and operational support for clinical information systems, products and services to Baylor College of Medicine clinical operations and Baylor affiliated institutions. Performs project management and implementation activities for clinical systems related to the clinical practice and Ambulatory modules. The Senior Clinical Applications Associate will work primarily with the Epic Ambulatory application; however, responsibilities are cross-functional to support other clinical modules. This role rotates on-call and help desk tier 2 support.

The Department of Information Technology at Baylor College of Medicine provides technology services, support, and partnership in delivering key values to the mission of Baylor College of Medicine. Information Technology offices are located at the Nabisco, McGovern Campus, in the Texas Medical Center. 

This position is eligible to work hybrid within the Greater Houston, TX area with occasional onsite including several days per month.

Job Duties
  • Manages projects related to MyChart Epic Module.
  • Collaborates with operational leaders to enhance patient engagement.
  • Provides support to the MyChart Support Desk as they respond to calls from patients about technical issues.
  • Provides application/database analysis and support, system integration, interface integration, or customized application solutions for clinical applications used throughout the Baylor clinical departments.
  • Designs, develops, and maintains custom clinical content to enhance workflows and efficiency utilizing the electronic medical records system and/or application software as assigned.
  • Performs application monitoring and planning, utilization tracking, and reporting.
  • Manages projects for enhancements and automation of clinical workflows. 
  • Provides secondary support to team members to assist with supporting other application modules as needed.
  • Implements and supports system upgrades, enhancements, and modifications. Coordinates with Baylor-IT personnel and Baylor affiliated IT departments.
  • Acts as operational/data liaison with Baylor departments to identify and resolve operational workflows issues related to technology, and issues related to data, data integrity, and interfaces. 
  • Provides technical and helpdesk support to Baylor clients and Baylor affiliated clients using or planning to use computing resources as needed. 
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree. Four years of relevant experience may substitute for degree requirement. 
  • Four years of relevant experience.
Department-specific Requirements
  • Experience in Ambulatory, MyChart, and/or Care Everywhere.
  • Accreditation and/or certification in Ambulatory, MyChart, and/or Care Everywhere.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
  • Epic certification in Ambulatory, MyChart, and/or Care Everywhere.

Work Authorization Requirement:

This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of application and throughout the duration of employment.
