Job Summary
Create Music Group is seeking a detail-oriented intern to join the Copyright & Rights Administration team for the 2026 Summer term. This role will provide the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience, and learn what it takes to support the day-to-day administration of a global music catalog. This role will collaborate with various internal teams and have direct exposure to the operations life cycle of intellectual property, from U.S. Copyright Office registrations to the management of international Neighboring Rights revenue streams.
Responsibilities
  • Compile metadata and download corresponding audio assets (MP3s) required for federal filings
  • Review client agreements to extract and record revenue share splits within the master rights system
  • Execute the manual input of rights splits into Label Engine to ensure precise royalty distribution for all stakeholders
  • Learn the formal process of song registration with the U.S. Copyright Office
  • Identify top-performing assets on monthly neighboring rights statements for priority registration and allocation
  • Regularly review the conflict queue in SoundExchange and utilize Salesforce to verify rights via existing agreements
  • Draft and manage outreach to conflicting third parties to resolve ownership disputes using the department email alias
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in a University or other academic program
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets (data entry, basic formulas, sorting/filtering)
  • Comfort working with data sets and identifying basic trends or errors
  • Familiarity with legal agreements and the ability to review and summarize key terms
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Basic research and information-gathering skills
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Drive, etc.)
