Summary

This person is responsible for the Children's Ministry at River Hills Church. This involves helping children to experience a safe and encouraging environment that provides a place for them to experience God. This position is responsible for the physical and spiritual care of infants through 5th grade. It is based on the concept that the church is responsible for partnering with parents in the spiritual "raising" of their children. This position requires leadership skills as well as the ability to manage relationships within a staff setting and a volunteer environment.

Doctrinal/Theological:

  • Must agree with the doctrinal standards of River Hills Church and Cove Church Ministries as found in the Faith and Practice.

Qualifications:

Requirements:

Doctrinal/Theological:

  • Must be in agreement with doctrinal standards of River Hills Church and Cove Church Ministries.
  • Must be able to instruct people in how to become a Christian/further their relationship with Jesus/God.

Vision/Leadership:

  • Instruct groups of people/lead meetings
  • Cast vision/communicate effectively
  • Encourage team members/volunteers
  • Effectively deliver difficult information and have tough conversations with staff/team members/volunteers

Relational:

  • Inspire potential volunteers to become team members
  • Work within inter-ministry team projects (student ministry/adult ministry/worship/other)
  • Respond to supervisor's coaching/evaluation by implementing changes accordingly

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Reports to Lead Pastor
  • Evaluate (with the Lead Pastor) the effectiveness of Children's Ministry programs
  • Determine staffing needs for nursery on Sunday mornings
  • Establish timelines for task completion
  • Determine Curriculum:
    • Oversee curriculum preparation and presentation
  • Budgeting for the entire ministry:
    • Work with Lead Pastor to establish the budget for Children's Ministry
    • Manage spending of budget
    • Ensure good stewardship practices regarding resources
  • Plan/Manage the following events:
    • Sunday Morning Worship (weekly)
    • Crew Volunteer Campaign (annually)
    • Crew Training Event (annually)
    • Baptisms
  • Communication with parents through website, email, social media
  • Manage Nursery
  • Make sure that all crew are abiding by the Child Protection Policy
