Job description

Position Summary

BGI is seeking a Government Operations Intern to support our administrative and operations teams across government and federal client projects. This role provides exposure to the full lifecycle of government contract management, administrative coordination, and operations support, including planning, execution, and closeout. The ideal candidate brings strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a desire to learn in a highly regulated government contracting environment. This position directly supports BGIโ€™s mission of delivering world-class administrative and operations support to our government clients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support government operations projects and contract administration activities.
  • Assist with compliance documentation and tracking for DOE, OSHA, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and government clients to support project scheduling and documentation.
  • Maintain project records, schedules, and administrative files; support reporting to BGI leadership and clients.
  • Assist with administrative oversight and support at government facilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or currently enrolled in an undergraduate program in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong communication and time management skills.
  • Ability to work through problems quickly and effectively and define a clear path to resolution.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift and/or move:

  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to visually inspect and interpret data or details
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position (e.g., sitting or standing) for extended periods of time
  • Ability to move throughout the work environment, including bending, reaching, walking, and climbing stairs
  • Frequent use of hands to operate computer systems, tools, or equipment.
