In this role, you will play a critical role in shaping sales strategies, managing inventory flow, and collaborating across departments to ensure the success of our merchandise planning efforts. As a Merchandise Planner, you will be empowered to take ownership of your assigned categories, develop sales and inventory plans, and work with key stakeholders to support GameStop's broader goals.
You will leverage your problem-solving abilities, strategic thinking, and collaborative mindset to enhance our merchandise planning processes, reduce costs, and exceed customer expectations. This is a hands-on role that will challenge you to make decisions with impact while working in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
This position will sit onsite in Grapevine, TX.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the end-to-end planning process, managing sales, margin, and inventory for assigned categories, including SKU-level forecasting and reporting.

  • Create and maintain strategic inventory plans, ensuring accurate forecasting and replenishment needs in alignment with the product life cycle.

  • Exhibit accountability and ownership over all aspects of the assigned categories.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to streamline processes, optimize performance, and contribute to GameStop's overarching objectives.

  • Provide key insights and recommendations to improve decision-making and support company growth.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, finance, supply chain, operations, statistics, or a related field.

  • 1-3 years of experience in merchandise planning, inventory planning, or retail buying.

  • Proven experience in developing SKU-level and category-level merchandise plans.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly convey complex information.

  • High proficiency in Excel, with experience in analyzing raw data and driving actionable insights, is critical to success.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to make informed decisions in uncertain or ambiguous situations.

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and business intelligence tools like Power BI required.
  • Experience with SQL is a plus.
