Job description

Our Brooklyn based ambulatory surgical center (www.brookplazaasc.com) is seeking a full time MedicalClerkto join our team!The Medical File Clerk plays a key role in maintaining the smooth operation of Brook Plaza's administrative functions. This position is responsible for handling a range of clerical and administrative duties, such as filing, scanning, data entry, and supporting various departments with accurate recordkeeping and general office tasks. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and capable of maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately file and maintain patient records and charts.
  • Scan documents and store hard copies securely.
  • Perform timely and accurate data entry into designated databases and software systems.
  • Assist in compiling, organizing, and preparing reports and documentation.
  • Retrieve and distribute records or files as requested.
  • Perform photocopying, faxing, and other clerical duties.
  • Monitor office supply levels and communicate needs to the appropriate staff.
  • Uphold HIPAA standards and always ensure patient information confidentiality.
