Job description

Palmetto School of Career Development is currently looking for a part time Medical Administrative Assisting instructor to teach our Medical Admin Assisting class on Monday and Wednesday nights from 6:00pm - 9:00pm. This class is 8 weeks long and is offered throughout the year.ย Instructors will cover the lecture material provided on the PowerPoint slides and administer weekly quizzes. Requirements:

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Must have a high school diploma or GED

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Must possess current certification as a Medical Administrative Assistant or higher license

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a Medical Administrative Assistant

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Must be proficient and demonstrate up-to-date knowledge and continuing study of the field

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Must be able to operate within computer-assisted environment

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills, organizational and motivational skills also essential

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Adhere to school policies and procedures.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Follow current course outlines, objectives, and evaluation mechanisms for the program.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Prepare and deliver lecture and lab demonstrations as outlined in curriculum.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Effectively demonstrate techniques in theory according to acceptable standards.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Utilize various teaching styles and methods to accommodate student learning styles.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Facilitate class discussions and motivate learning.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Ensure studentโ€™s conceptual understanding of employability skills through demonstration and repetition.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Directly supervise daily activities and tasks of students, using classroom management techniques.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Provide a safe, positive, supportive, and professional learning environment for students.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Assess student skills acquisition and application of principles, theories, and critical thinking.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Administer written and practical tests to evaluate student achievement of course objectives.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Returning assignments to students to provide feedback, and assigning final grades for all students in a timely manner.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Maintain confidentiality pursuant to policies.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Report student grades, disciplinary infractions, classroom management issues, or strategies to improve student learning to the Area Manager.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Advise students as it relates to school policies, satisfactory performance, etc.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Maintain accurate attendance records, record absentee information in roster after each class meeting, and communicate attendance "concerns" to the Area Manager.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Maintain a professional appearance.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Substitute in classes when necessary.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Provide educational assistance to students during regularly scheduled class times or by appointments pre-approved by the Area Manager.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Actively participate in orientations and meetings with the Area Manager as requested.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Provide constructive input to resolve issues when they arise.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Actively work to improve student outcomes, reduce attrition, and maintain retention.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Assist with on-going review and development of curriculum by making recommendations concerning textbooks, learning resources, material covered, and instructional supplies.
