Job description

Physicians Mutual is seeking a Direct Marketing Data Analyst to support the data, systems and vendor relationships that drive our direct marketing efforts. In this role, you will analyze and manage large volumes of customer, policy, prospect and marketing data, ensuring accuracy, integrity and availability across multiple databases and platforms. You will collaborate with Marketing, Enterprise Technology and external data vendors to develop solutions, support business initiatives and optimize marketing performance.


  • Analyze, validate and maintain customer, policy, prospect and marketing data across internal and external systems.
  • Monitor data quality, troubleshoot issues and coordinate corrective actions to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
  • Manage data integrations, file transfers and database processes with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Develop and support reporting, querying and data analysis solutions that drive marketing decisions and business performance.
  • Partner with Marketing and Enterprise Technology teams to implement system enhancements, process improvements and new data solutions.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on marketing data, databases and data management tools.
  • Manage relationships with third-party data vendors, ensuring service levels, data quality and operational effectiveness.
  • Lead or support projects involving data, systems, vendor implementations and process enhancements.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to marketing personnel on data usage, reporting tools and analytics resources.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Business, Marketing, Computer Science, Engineering, Finance or a related field required.
  • Experience working with large databases, data warehousing, data integration or business intelligence environments.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and database technologies; experience with Oracle, DB2, Snowflake, Tableau or similar tools preferred.
  • Experience using ChatGPT and other AI productivity tools 
  • Experience managing data movement, validation and quality assurance processes.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and project management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with technical teams, business stakeholders and external vendors.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience supporting marketing data operations or direct marketing initiatives is preferred.
  • Knowledge of insurance products, practices or financial reporting is a plus.
