Client is looking for a Manufacturing Shop Scheduler to join our team who is a strong problem solver and passionate about creating systems and processes to help us overcome the obstacles associated with dynamic company growth. We are looking for someone who loves to learn new skills, is strong on computers and comfortable spending all day on the manufacturing floor. If you are a hard-working self-starter, capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment, then client is a good fit for you.

PRIMARY ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Schedule rotating machinery inspections, disassembly, machining, balancing, assembly, and preparation for shipment to meet internal & external customer needs.
  • Plans and coordinates production workflow by analyzing work instructions.
  • Responsible for overall production planning, capacity planning, scheduling, prioritization, and tracking/monitoring of production activities. Provides the shop with proper capacity planning to ensure feasible and achievable production schedules.
  • Maintains ERP system parameters and processes, generates and releases work orders, reschedules based on priorities, maintains area capacity plans and/or provides production forecasts as necessary.
  • Create templates in the ERP system.
  • Supports new processes.
  • Responsible for reporting and communication regarding capacity requirements, backlog status, production tracking, order priorities, material requirements, shop floor reporting, key performance indicators, or other required reporting.
  • Attend Job Planning meetings to review capacity and planning issues of new jobs.
  • Communicate the daily and weekly production scheduling during cross-functional production meetings.
  • Analyze production specifications and plant capacity data to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and staffing requirements.
  • Plan and schedule shop workflow for each department and operation, according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times.
  • Runs daily production reports to review open work orders, monitors backlog, identifies shortages and/or production issues.
  • Understand the lead-time of raw materials and order of operations to support production schedule.
  • Maintain a high proficiency in specialized client business systems, specialized software, and general office software (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to think outside the box.
  • Experience working in a Machine Shop.
  • Knowledge of production scheduling and manufacturing / factory flow processes.
  • Knowledge of production planning within ERP Systems.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques.
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Ability to create and understand reports to make production decisions.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel
  • JobBoss software experience preferred.
  • Programming experience preferred.
  • Ability to professionally handle stressful situations.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) or equivalent combination of education, industry certifications and experience. Experience in a job shop or Engineer to Order business is preferable. Minimum of 5 years equivalent experience.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • The position will be based full time in our Bethlehem, PA facility.
  • Business travel time is projected to be <15% or less.
  • This is a full-time position, with a minimum expectation of 40 hours per week. Additional hours, including evenings or weekends may be required based on workload and company needs.
  • This position may be required to participate in the company random or customer specific drug and alcohol screening and background check.
  • Able to understand, read, write and speak English.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee may be required to stand and walk for significant portions of the shift.
  • Ability and willingness to lift objects weighing up to 30 lbs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee will be regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts in a machine-shop environment. While the work area may be described as generally clean, safe, and "not loud", there will be machine operations that generate moderate noise and metal particles.
