What You'll DoAs a
Manufacturing Operations Manager, you'll serve as the senior manufacturing leader responsible for the overall performance of fabrication, mechanical assembly, and electrical assembly operations. You'll lead managers and cross-functional teams to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality execution while supporting customer commitments, operational excellence, and long-term business growth.
In this role, you will:
- Lead all fabrication, welding, mechanical assembly, and electrical assembly operationsÂ
- Execute the manufacturing strategy established by the Director of Manufacturing OperationsÂ
- Establish manufacturing priorities aligned with customer commitments and operational objectivesÂ
- Develop capacity plans, staffing forecasts, and production resource plansÂ
- Manage manufacturing labor budgets, operating budgets, and resource allocation strategiesÂ
- Ensure effective utilization of labor, equipment, facilities, and manufacturing resourcesÂ
- Drive KPI performance for Safety, Quality, Delivery, Throughput, Labor Efficiency, and CostÂ
- Review manufacturing performance metrics and implement corrective actions to improve operational effectivenessÂ
- Coordinate priorities between Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Planning, Maintenance, EH&S, and Supply ChainÂ
- Lead Lean Manufacturing, operational excellence, and continuous improvement initiativesÂ
- Champion and enforce a zero-incident safety culture across all manufacturing departmentsÂ
- Support implementation of manufacturing best practices and standardized operating proceduresÂ
- Lead workforce development, succession planning, and leadership development initiativesÂ
- Develop future manufacturing leaders through coaching, mentoring, and succession planning activitiesÂ
- Lead operational problem-solving and root-cause analysis efforts related to safety, quality, delivery, and productivityÂ
- Support capital equipment planning, automation projects, and manufacturing technology improvementsÂ
- Participate in customer visits, audits, executive leadership meetings, and operational reviewsÂ
- Support new product introductions, production expansions, and facility growth initiativesÂ
- Lead facility-wide transformation projects and strategic operational initiativesÂ
- Promote operational excellence, accountability, and engagement throughout all manufacturing functions
Requirements
What We're Looking ForWe're seeking an experienced manufacturing leader who can balance strategic planning with day-to-day execution while developing strong teams and driving sustainable operational performance.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum ten (10) years of progressive manufacturing leadership experienceÂ
- Minimum five (5) years managing multiple manufacturing departments, business units, or value streamsÂ
- Experience leading fabrication, welding, assembly, or industrial manufacturing operationsÂ
- Experience managing managers, supervisors, and cross-functional manufacturing teamsÂ
- Demonstrated success improving manufacturing performance, workforce effectiveness, and operational efficiencyÂ
- Strong communication, coaching, and leadership skillsÂ
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilitiesÂ
- Strong organizational and project management skillsÂ
- Ability to influence and lead cross-functional teamsÂ
- Ability to balance long-term strategic planning with day-to-day operational demandsÂ
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations Management, Industrial Technology, Business, or a related fieldÂ
- Lean Manufacturing certificationÂ
- Experience with ERP/MRP systemsÂ
- Experience implementing automation initiatives and operational excellence programsÂ
- Experience supporting organizational growth, capacity expansion, and manufacturing transformation effortsÂ
- Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience may be consideredÂ
Your Work Schedule
This is a full-time, exempt position working Monday through Friday. This role requires regular presence on the manufacturing floor and occasional travel to support operational initiatives, customer visits, audits, and business activities.
