The Warehouse Supervisoris responsible for maintaining the integrity and efficient processing of the reserve stock inventory.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversees DC functions in inbound/outbound
  • Approve time off and timecards for DC staff
  • Administer 30/60 day and annual performance reviews
  • Ensures DC activity and tasks are performed accurately and timely within WHSmith North America DC productivity goals
  • Coordinates DC staff assignments to reflect proper priorities and maximizes results
  • Communicates performance of staff to DC Operations Manager and advises of any lapses in productivity
  • Ensures reconciliation tasks and other inventory discrepancies are addressed in a timely manner and always with inventory integrity in mind
  • Helps to ensure company equipment is properly maintained and all DC associates operate equipment in a safe manner at all times in accordance with OSHA regulations as well as DC policies and procedures
  • Ensures staff is adhering to WHSmith's DC Safety program at all times, including practicing safe lifting practices
  • Reports all accidents to DC management immediately and completes proper post-accident forms when necessary
  • Supervises PTL area as needed and assigned and assists DC clerks with correcting miss-picked items
  • Coordinates tote flow with DC clerks in backstock and VAS
  • Ensures DC Associates/Clerks have supplies needed and reports any shortages to DC Operations Managers timely
  • Maintains DC retrieval productivity by communicating improper stock distribution multiples or packing to buying department
  • Completes WMS manual tasks as directed for buyers by DC Operations Manager, DC Sr. Operations Manager or DC Director
  • Assists in keeping DC clean/organized including stacking empty pallets, breaking down corrugate boxes and feeding compactor as needed
  • Assists other DC Supervisors, DC Operations Manager and DC Sr. Operations Manager as needed or assigned
  • Assists in DC loss prevention by enforcing all applicable security procedures; ie monitoring of entrance, exit and keeping dock doors secured
  • Maintains confidentiality of company sources and information
  • Supervisory duties; hiring, firing, performance management and coaching of departmental staff
  • To conduct him/herself in the spirit of the WHSmith North America mission, vision, core values and organizational health
  • Other duties may be assigned

Job Requirements
  • HS Diploma or GED
  • 2+ year supervisor experience in a fast-paced Distribution Center/Warehouse
  • Previous certification or training on various warehouse equipment including but limited to pallet lift trucks and stock pickers, preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook 365
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Previous experience with handheld terminals (HHT's)
  • Previous experience with a pallet jack and cycle counts
  • Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
  • Must have a satisfactory Drug Test and Criminal Background Check
