Role Purpose

The Senior DC Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all day-to-day distribution center operations supporting Princess Polly's US ecommerce and retail channels. This role serves as the key operational leader connecting internal business functions with third-party logistics (3PL) partners to ensure efficient, accurate, and scalable fulfillment, inventory management, returns processing, and retail replenishment. Through strong leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and continuous process improvement, this position drives operational excellence, inventory accuracy, service level attainment, and customer satisfaction while supporting the company's ongoing growth.

Organizational Contribution & Influence

The Senior DC Operations Manager serves as a critical link between Princess Polly's Distribution Center operations, retail stores, ecommerce fulfillment, and HQ support teams. This role partners closely with Planning, Merchandising, Supply Chain, Customer Experience, Finance, Logistics, and external 3PL providers to ensure operational alignment and seamless product flow from inbound receipt through customer delivery and retail replenishment.

By maintaining visibility into DC performance, leading operational initiatives, and fostering collaborative relationships across departments, this position ensures business priorities are effectively translated into operational execution. The role plays a key part in building scalable processes, driving accountability, and supporting a culture of continuous improvement, adaptability, and operational excellence.


Key ResponsibilitiesDistribution Center & Fulfillment Operations
  • Oversee daily DC operations including inbound receiving, outbound fulfillment, inventory control, returns processing, quality assurance, and retail allocations.

  • Ensure all ecommerce and retail orders are fulfilled accurately and within established service level agreements.

  • Monitor throughput, productivity, and operational performance to ensure consistent execution and scalability.

  • Coordinate DC scheduling and workload planning to support business demands, peak periods, promotions, product launches, and new store openings.

  • Maintain compliance with safety standards, operational procedures, and company policies.

3PL Management & Operational Partnership 
  • Serve as the primary operational liaison between Princess Polly and third-party logistics providers.

  • Ensure 3PL partners have the tools, resources, forecasting, and information required to successfully execute fulfillment, inventory management, returns processing, and retail support activities.

  • Monitor and manage 3PL performance against SLAs, identifying opportunities for improvement and driving corrective actions where necessary.

  • Lead regular operational reviews with 3PL partners to address performance, capacity planning, process improvements, and business readiness.

  • Support scalability initiatives to ensure operational continuity during periods of rapid growth and increased demand.

Inventory Management & Retail Operations Support 
  • Partner with Planning, Merchandising, and Supply Chain teams to ensure accurate inventory flow and replenishment strategies.

  • Maintain high levels of inventory accuracy through cycle count programs, discrepancy resolution, and process controls.

  • Oversee retail fulfillment activities, ensuring timely and accurate store allocations and replenishments.

  • Manage inventory-related issues and collaborate with internal teams and 3PL partners to resolve discrepancies efficiently.

  • Ensure returns are processed accurately and within established service standards.

Process Improvement & Operational Excellence 
  • Continuously evaluate workflows, labor utilization, space optimization, and operational procedures to identify improvement opportunities.

  • Develop and implement scalable processes that improve efficiency, accuracy, and service performance.

  • Establish reporting structures and operational metrics that provide visibility into key performance indicators and improvement initiatives.

  • Lead continuous improvement projects that enhance fulfillment speed, inventory accuracy, and overall operational effectiveness.

  • Drive adoption of best practices, technology solutions, and operational standards across DC operations.

Leadership, Communication & Cross-Functional Collaboration 
  • Lead and develop operational teams through coaching, performance management, and succession planning.

  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement.

  • Participate in cross-functional planning meetings and represent DC operations in key business discussions.

  • Provide regular operational reporting and performance updates to senior leadership.

  • Ensure alignment between DC operations, retail, ecommerce, customer experience, and corporate teams.


Skills & ExperienceRequired Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in distribution center, logistics, supply chain, or warehouse operations leadership.

  • Experience managing third-party logistics (3PL) relationships and performance.

  • Strong understanding of ecommerce fulfillment, retail replenishment, inventory management, and returns processing.

  • Proven experience managing service level agreements, operational KPIs, and process improvement initiatives.

  • Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), inventory management platforms, and operational reporting tools.

  • Knowledge of warehouse safety standards, compliance requirements, and operational best practices.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting both retail and ecommerce distribution operations.

  • Experience in high-growth retail, fashion, or omnichannel environments.

  • Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement experience preferred.

  • Strong analytical and project management capabilities.

Salary range: $130K–$178K

*The role will be remote with travel up to 25%.
