Job description

As a Sr Advanced Software Engineer here at Honeywell Aerospace, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and implementing advanced software solutions that drive innovation in aerospace technology. You will be part of a dynamic team focused on delivering high-quality, reliable software systems that meet stringent aerospace industry standards.
In this role, you will impact the development of cutting-edge aerospace software products that enhance safety, efficiency, and performance in aviation and related fields, contributing to Honeywell's leadership in the aerospace sector.
You will report directly to our Engineering Manager and you'll work out of our Phoenix, Arizona location on a hybrid work schedule. Note: For the first 90 days, New Hires must be prepared to work 100% onsite M-F.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Leading technical development activities, guiding lower-level engineers, collaborating with cross functional teams and driving to objectives of quality, cost and schedule.
  • Managing stakeholders within and outside organization demonstrate ability to identify and propose technical improvements using engineering expertise.
  • Ideating/driving VPD (Velocity Product Development) ideas and RDE (Research Development Engineering) reduction initiatives.

Qualifications
YOU MUST HAVE
  • At least 10 years' experience in software development/systems/software verification
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in software verification & validation
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
  • Very good knowledge on C, C++, Python, Embedded programming, Model based Testing.
  • Expertise in using debuggers, simulators & good knowledge on structural coverage tools like VectorCover, LDRA, TCA, CodeTest and TRACE 32 etc.
  • Strong technical skills with emphasis in the areas of software development and verification processes, TSO certification and DO-178B/C design assurance guidelines.
  • Strong understanding of software verification methods and tools currently in use as well as in industry standards and direction.
  • Strong leadership skills and stakeholder management.

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Engineering (ECE/CS/EEE)
  • Proficient with deep knowledge and understanding of DO 178 B / C and supplements.
  • Passion to explore opportunities and solutions in test methodologies and test design automation.
  • Experience in TXD, EGPWS, Datalink, Com/Nav Radio, Global Navigation technologies, RF signal and Radar/RADALT technologies will be added advantage.
  • Experience in Change Impact Analysis (RA, DRAT), Tool Qual, TRR, RFS, Cert Docs, SOI#3 Audits will be considered as plus.
  • Good understanding of Aero CNS products and product line business.
  • Good understanding in avionics concepts, domain and processes with an expertise in the field of Verification & Validation of avionics embedded software.
  • Passion to explore opportunities and solutions.
  • Knowledge in Communication Navigation Surveillance products.
  • Highly motivated and have the ability to influence technical decisions.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Mindset to contribute to technical initiatives for continuous growth.
