Collins Aerospace designs, integrates, and certifies commercial avionics products for the Air Transport and Business and Regional aircraft markets. We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer who is passionate about analog, digital, and RF circuit design and eager to influence both legacy and next‑generation Communication, Navigation and Surveillance (CNS) transceiver products. This is an opportunity to shape systems that operate in some of the most demanding environments in aerospace. Our ideal candidate will be self-motivated, self-disciplined, and possess excellent communication skill and a demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate within a multifunctional, multidiscipline team. You will also be required to demonstrate flexibility and an ability to coordinate with multiple teams, organizations, suppliers, and customers to achieve a common goal. 

This is an onsite position based in Melbourne, Florida.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide design and engineering support for CNS sustainment products, with opportunities to contribute to new product development.

  • Design, analyze, and optimize analog, digital, and RF circuits for high‑performance avionics applications.

  • Collaborate across interdisciplinary teams—including power, digital, mechanical, systems, and manufacturing—to deliver integrated solutions.

  • Perform schematic capture, PWB layout coordination, and design documentation.

  • Support transition‑to‑production activities and provide hands‑on troubleshooting and technical support for production teams.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, design reviews, and technical decision‑making across the product lifecycle.

Education & Experience you must have:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience

  • U.S. Person is required - Job requires access to ITAR or 600/500-series EAR information or hardware (directly or indirectly) and the company will not seek an export authorization for this role.

Qualifications you must have:
  • Demonstrated experience in analog, digital, and/or RF circuit design.

  • Proficiency in electrical engineering fundamentals including troubleshooting, analysis, and test.

  • Hands‑on experience with engineering tools and test equipment such as oscilloscopes, DMMs, network analyzers, and power meters.

  • Experience with schematic capture tools and the ability to interpret complex schematics.

  • Familiarity with integrated development environments and debugging tools for software/hardware interaction.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical information clearly and effectively.

  • Proven ability to lead or influence technical efforts within a multidisciplinary team.

  • Self‑motivated, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities to meet deadlines.

  • Demonstrated success working in collaborative team environments.

Qualifications we prefer:

  • Understanding and experience with Design for Test (DFT), Design for Manufacturing (DFM), designing for producibility, and cost—including yield and margin analysis.

  • Proficiency in SPICE simulation tools such as LTSPICE, PSPICE, TINA, etc.

  • Knowledge of avionics product lines such as DME, VOR/LOC, ILS, Marker Beacon, GNSS, ADF, and/or Radar Altimeter.

  • Experience with Mentor Graphics Xpedition or similar ECAD

  • General knowledge and understanding of the FAA Technical Standard Order (TSO) process.

  • Experience with Environmental Conditions and Test Procedures for Airborne Equipment (RTCA/DO-160 or MIL-STD-461).

  • Background in microwave/RF systems, subsystems, or component‑level design and test.

  • Experience in transmitter/power amplifier and/or receiver/LNA design.

  • Proficiency with electromagnetic simulation and analytical tools such as HFSS, ADS, Microwave Office, and MATLAB.

  • Experience translating system‑level requirements into hardware specifications, design artifacts, and test plans.

  • Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to identify creative, technically sound solutions to complex challenges.

  • Experience developing technical proposals and delivering formal technical presentations.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
