Job description

Distribution Sales Manager

As a Hypertherm, Distribution Sales Manager (DSM), you will sell, promote, and support Hypertherm plasma systems, consumables, and parts through the establishment, recruitment, training, and development of a network of independent and national distributors maximizing Hypertherm's market share in your assigned territory.

The territory for this position is Mid-Atlantic US. Must currently reside in the Philadelphia, PA area.
As a DSM at Hypertherm, you will have a direct impact by prioritizing and executing objectives based on sales area opportunities for greater market penetration, including:

  • Develop and expand channel partner relationships to maximize regional coverage

  • Create annual business and territory plans with key distributors to achieve sales goals and drive market share growth

  • Assess distributor training needs and develop/execute training plans

  • Set annual and quarterly sales targets

  • Secure partner commitment for year-round joint activities (e.g., trade shows, enduser visits, demos)

  • Conduct quarterly business reviews with distributor leadership to track progress and align targets

  • Lead new product launch initiatives and report performance against plan; promote existing products using available sales tools to optimize sales results

  • Use of Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) CRM to manage distributor and end-user relationships, document activities, maintain opportunity pipeline data, and provide sales forecasts and territory insights

Who you are and what you bring to the position:

  • Bachelor's degree with 3-5 yrs. Industrial sales experience

  • Extensive experience in B2B environment with the ability to identify sales opportunities, demonstrate and present product features, benefits, and values using technical product knowledge

  • Proven experience using CRM platforms, preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) to manage customer relationships and sales activities. I focus on accurate data entry and maintaining CRM data quality

  • Train distributor sales force on our products

  • Capable of solutions selling, recommending the appropriate integrated suite of products for the end-user application

  • Ability to develop, manage, and coordinate promotional programs with independent distributors in an industrial setting that produce high-quality results

  • Competitive knowledge within the respective region/marketplace and our industry

  • Understanding of how distributors organize and operate in their marketplace

  • Current driver's license

Preferred experience that differentiates you:

  • Welding/cutting experience

  • Managing a distribution network

Physical Demands and Travel:

  • Travel: up to 70% per year (primarily driving)

  • Location: Home Based Philadelphia, PA

  • Ability to work from a home office.

  • Located within 1 hour of a major airport

  • Ability to demonstrate systems (manage the movement of ~100 pounds)

  • Operate plasma equipment within safety guidelines
