POSITION SUMMARY
We are looking for a reliable Maintenance Tech. to undertake upkeep and repair task at the interior or exterior of company premises. Weโ€™ll rely on you to keep our facilities in perfect condition by doing various odd jobs.
Deft hands and technical knowledge are important parts of a handymanโ€™s arsenal. You must be well organized with strong general repair skills. A keen eye detail physical stamina is valued greatly in this job.
Responsibilities
  • Perform basic maintenance and light repairs.
  • Perform routine landscaping on the grounds as needed.
  • Paint and fill gaps or crevices (on walls, sidewalks, etc.)
  • Advanced understanding of general maintenance procedures and techniques.
  • Repair equipment or appliances.
  • Assist with electrical, plumbing, or HVAC repairs.
  • Undertake duties as assigned or emergency task (e.g., shoveling snow, spills)
  • Identify and report the needs for major repairs.
  • Complete work orders as assigned in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Identify and report any issues or safety concerns.
  • Assist with lifting, moving, loading, and unloading.
  • Perform routine landscaping on the grounds for each facility. (Moved this from the skills section)
  • Performs utility and structural repairs as needed, alone or in collaboration with internal/external tradespersons/vendors.
  • Documents and maintains records of work performed.
  • Maintenance work may be assigned across multiple TCA locations.
  • Assist the Facilities amp; Maintenance Supervisor with work assignments as requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements and Skills
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with hardware tools and electrical equipment.
  • General understanding of electrical, plumbing or HVAC systems.
  • Experience cleaning facilities by sweeping, dusting, mopping, etc.
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Basic math, reading and computer skills.
  • Good communication skills
  • Well-organized with great attention to detail
  • Flexible scheduling option.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience operating a variety of equipment including snow blowers and power tools.
  • Ability to complete multiple projects in a timely manner.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driverโ€™s license (and insurance?)
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
