Freedom Behavioral Hospital of Bastrop is Currently Seeking an Experienced and Motivated Maintenance Technician to Join our Team!


We are excited to extend services in this area to those in need! The Freedom Team puts patient care first by driving processes to ensure quality and compliance. We have an energetic, motivated leadership team implementing exciting new changes. Our team strives to nurture and elevate the talents of all employees. Position Summary:

  • The Maintenance Tech is responsible for all repairs and reporting in the environment of care for the hospital.
  • They are responsible for processing work orders, performing rounds for safety, and coordinating efforts with external resources, if necessary.
  • The maintenance tech reports to the administrator and/or the Plant Operations Manager of the hospital.
  • The maintenance tech needs to be able to prioritize and organize projects in accordance with hospital safety and life safety efforts for the patients.
  • Basic maintenance in a healthcare setting is preferred, including but not limited to: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.


Preferred knowledge, skills, and/or experience required:

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training in maintenance, construction, or related field preferred.

License:

  • Current CPR/BLS certification through the American Heart Association. (Will provide service or renewal if needed)
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) required

Experience:

  • 1-3 years of maintenance, building trades, or facilities experience. (Preferred)
  • Experience in a healthcare, hospital, skilled nursing, or similar regulated environment. (Preferred)
  • Experience with preventive maintenance programs and general building systems. (Preferred)
  • Knowledge of Life Safety, Environment of Care (EOC), and basic regulatory compliance in healthcare facilities. (Preferred)
  • Experience with preventive maintenance software or work order systems. (Preferred)
