About Prophetstown State Park:
Prophetstown State Park is at the junction of the Tippecanoe and Wabash Rivers. The park was shaped by glaciers, water, fire, and conservation efforts that created a 900-acre prairie. Native Americans lived and hunted the area because of its abundance of food sources. The state partners with the town of Battle Ground to offer "The Farm at Prophetstown," a 1920s farm lifestyles exhibition. Other activities include bicycling, camping, and hiking.
Role Overview:
Incumbent serves the property as a maintenance repairperson with primary responsibilities of aquatic center mechanical operation and maintenance and the operation and maintenance repair of the sanitary distribution systems throughout the property including lift stations. Incumbent serves as a technical resource for plumbing and electrical repairs throughout the property. Incumbent will report directly to the Maintenance Repair Supervisor. Skills that we are looking for include advanced electrical including 3-phase and advanced plumbing experiences.
Salary:
The salary for this position traditionally starts at $34,216.00 but may be commensurate with education and work experience. Use our Compensation Calculator to view the total compensation package.
A Day in the Life:
The essential functions of this role are as follows:
- Diagnose and repair various maintenance issues.
- Maintain service and maintenance records.
- Purchase required parts, tools, and supplies according to State policy.
- Repair buildings and structures.
- Assist with snow removal.
- Workday attendance at assigned worksite(s) is an essential function of this position.

What You'll Need for Success:
Individuals in this role should minimally be able to articulate or demonstrate the following:
- Working knowledge of various trades including masonry, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.
- Working knowledge of radio communications and procedures.
- Working knowledge of appropriate safety precautions needed for a variety of repairs.
- Ability to use a variety of automotive, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical tools for routine maintenance and repair.
- Ability to prepare and maintain a variety of records.
- Ability to use a wide variety of hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment.
- Ability to work independently and provide self-motivation.
- Ability to read and follow guidelines and blueprints to complete construction projects.
- Be willing to travel with reasonable accommodation.

Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:
This role may be utilized in a supervisory capacity based on agency needs.
