Job description


Ensures the successful execution of plant operations from a maintenance perspective, while ensuring procedures, people and resources are aligned to accomplish established goals in regard to quality, efficiency and safety. Provide technical support, industry expertise, encouragement and guidance to direct reports and the maintenance team promoting optimal plant performance
Duties/Activities Required by Job
  • Managing the maintenance, repair and improvement of physical systems and equipment within the plant and cost control.
  • Managing programs to ensure safety of people, premises, property, and regularity compliance.
  • Complying with HR/ Safety policies and procedures including; verifying Kronos and Fusion activity, overseeing the disciplinary action process, ensuring safety and certification training is completed on time.
  • Managing staffing, development, and performance management of mechanics
  • Monitoring and ensuring area metrics are met; Cost/ lb., M&R budget.

Educations/Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant Maintenance field desired. Technical degree/training and/or relevant certifications in General Maintenance, Electrical, (RETA) or relevant experience
  • 5-7 + yrs. demonstrated maintenance management experience in a manufacturing environment, must include successful track record managing 7-10 mechanics.
  • Experience will be considered in lieu of degree, previous poultry experience preferred, previous manufacturing management experience required if no rendering experience.
  • Some experience with financial analysis in a Maintenance setting, HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) in depth knowledge and experience.
  • Knowledge of FSMA, regulations on SFSF, guidelines and operations.
  • Incumbent must have some experience managing a budget and systems including preventive maintenance systems. Must include possessing a combination of on-the-job, informal training, plus formal training and/or general-level maintenance with journeyman and/or masters certifications in one or more disciplines. Proficiency managing execution of general preventative maintenance and repairs and non-routine high-level emergency repairs. Possesses advanced general maintenance skills including, but not limited to, welding (Arc/Stick/TIG), math for mechanics, assembly, conveyors, wiring, motors and motor controls, mechanical drives, pneumatics, hydraulics, Programmable Logic Controls (PLC), knowledge of fire tube boilers, centrifuges, fabrication and safety.
