Job Summary:

The Building Maintenance Technician is responsible for the ongoing maintenance and repair of a building or area. Duties can vary from day to day and a maintenance schedule may be implemented so time management skills are required. Building Maintenance Technicians need to have a good knowledge of building skills including HVAC, plumbing, drywall installation, painting, and general building repair. Also, the incumbent will need to be adept at using a variety of hand and electrical tools. This position has the possibility to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends.

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Repair and maintain plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems in the building
  • Calibrate instruments and tools required for job responsibilities
  • Maintain fire, carbon monoxide, smoke and other safety systems within the structure
  • Evacuate building in the event of an emergency
  • Maintain corporate safety procedures at all times and comply with access control regulations
  • Work with tools and supplies necessary to complete projects
  • Receive and respond to tenant reports of mechanical or maintenance issues on their premises
  • Communicate with facilities management about any work that requires outside expert assistance

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualification:

Minimum 18 years of age and a high school diploma or GED, or currently enrolled in a technical degree program in good standing, and up to 3 years of general building maintenance experience; ability to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends if needed
Capable of basic installation and repairs to plumbing, HVAC, electrical, custodial, and other areas as needed
Preferred Qualification:

  • Proficient organizational skills
  • Proficient time management skills
  • Self-motivation
  • Must have the ability to climb heights, lift up to 60 lbs. and climb onto ladders

The expected starting pay range for this position is between $23.85 - $35.75
This position is not eligible for employment-based sponsorship.

Compensation:

Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position may be eligible for annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the terms of the Company's bonus and incentive plans, as applicable and in effect from time to time.
