Job Summary:

Coordinate, set up and maintain small bindery machines and equipment. Machine operation includes the coordination and the Mailer, Dot Wac, use of the Polybag, Drills, Shanklin, Shrink Wrap Machine and Folders, Spiral Binding in the Bindery Department which are used to complete Bindery Operations and fulfill customer orders to quality specifications.

Essentials Duties:

  • Demonstrate knowledge and the ability to understand bindery related specifications
  • Demonstrate the ability to perform make readies (m/r) on all equipment listed as small machines
  • Demonstrate compliance with all safety procedures
  • Demonstrate consistency in the observation of all safety procedures, bending and lifting techniques
  • Show leadership skills as well as interpersonal skills
  • Possess the knowledge and ability to read and understand the job tickets, workers, order and all other documentation that pertains to each job
  • Interact with supervisors to facilitate daily schedules
  • Understands and carry out customer’s quality requirements
  • Able to meet or exceed expected goals on make readies, speeds, waste and efficiencies, etc…
  • The ability to operate all tools pertaining to equipment, wrenches, gauges and tape measures, etc…
  • Operate a power industrial hand truck.
  • Monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions or to determine whether adjustments are needed
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment and determining when what maintenance is needed
  • Other duties as assigned by management

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be dependable, reliable, and responsible in fulfilling obligations.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot when machine malfunction
  • Must work well with others.
  • Must be flexible and open to change when needed.
  • Must have the ability to follow instructions.
  • Must be proven self-starter to complete projects/work orders.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pound
  • Must be willing to work overtime as needed
  • The ability 12 hour shifts
Perferred Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 2-year bindery experience
  • Basic small packaging knowledge

Physical Requirements 

  • Prolonged periods of standing while setting up and operating equipment 
  • Continuously bending, twisting, kneeling and squatting
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
