The Lead Tape Operator is responsible for supporting the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of tape-producing machinery, helping ensure high-quality product from the beginning of the weaving process through completion on the reel. This role assists Tape Associates, supports training of team members, helps troubleshoot equipment and production issues, and may step in to support supervisor responsibilities as needed.ย ย ย 

ย KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Set up,ย operate, andย monitorย looms, printers, and related tape-producing equipment toย maintainย safe, continuous, and efficient production.ย 

  • Monitor operating parameters and make necessary adjustments to looms, printers, or production equipment to support quality and output expectations.ย 

  • Ensure tape is marked with the proper print line and verify print quality, measurement markings, product appearance, and other quality requirements.ย 

  • Check and verify proper weaving of weft and lockstitch into theย product, andย monitor applicable fluid or lube levels.ย 

  • Load andย maintainย the requiredย amountย of raw materials on reels and demonstrate working knowledge of commonly used yarn types and applications.ย 

  • Assist Tape Associates, train new team members, and provide guidance on equipment use, work instructions, safety expectations, and quality standards.ย 

  • Perform minor equipment maintenance, troubleshoot production issues, and report unsafe conditions or broken equipment to the supervisor or management team.ย 

  • Document shift activity, downtime, production numbers, quality checks, and other required production information accurately andย timely.ย 

  • Support inner-plant truck pulling, packaging, reel building, and other production activities needed to ensure product availability for the next shift.ย 

  • Activelyย participateย in all plant activities includingย cleaning,ย training, safety, continuous improvement,ย 5Sย etc.ย 

  • Additional duties as required by management

EXPERIENCE & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to speak, read and write English fluently, Bilingual is a Plus!

  • At least 2 years of equipment/machine operating experience in a manufacturing environmentย 

  • Physicalย requirements:ย ย 

  • Stand and walk long distances on the plant floor for 8 to 12 hours on a shift.ย 

  • Occasionalย climbing, reaching,ย squattingย and bending toย operateย and fix equipmentย 

  • Work in an environment that may be exposed to external elements (hotย and cold temperatures)ย and occasional loud noises.ย 

  • Capable of wearing required PPE (eyes, ears, feet,ย etc)ย forย entireย shift.ย ย 

  • Able to liftย and carry, push/pullย up to 50lbsย multiple times per shiftย 

"The compensation for this position is typically $49,000-$90,500/yr The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to jobrelated knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. The compensation package may also include short and long-term incentive compensation.
