Machine Shop Supervisor

Position Overview
Northeast Precast is seeking an experienced Machine Shop Supervisor to lead daily operations within our CNC and fabrication shop. This role is responsible for overseeing machining operations, mentoring junior team members, ensuring quality standards, and supporting internal production needs across multiple departments.
The ideal candidate has strong hands-on machining experience, leadership ability, and working knowledge of CAD/CAM systems.
Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise daily machine shop operations (CNC mills, lathes, and support equipment)
  • Program, set up, and operate CNC machinery
  • Oversee workflow, scheduling, and job prioritization
  • Maintain quality control standards and inspection procedures
  • Train and mentor junior machinists and technicians
  • Collaborate with engineering and design teams to optimize manufacturability
  • Assist with fixture, jig, and tooling development
  • Ensure safe operation and proper maintenance of shop equipment
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of CNC machining experience
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred
  • Proficiency in CNC programming (G-code and/or CAM software)
  • Working knowledge of CAD software (SolidWorks, Fusion, Inventor, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of machining tolerances and inspection tools
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Pay Range
$30.00 - $32.00 Hourly
