Job Description Shop Supervisor-Injection Molding The Organization We are a premier global manufacturer of specialized interior components and systems for the transportation sectors. The Role We are seeking an Injection Mold Shop Supervisor for our manufacturing facility in Northeast Mississippi. In this pivotal leadership role, you will oversee all aspects of mold repair, maintenance, and continuous improvement. Your mission is to ensure that injection molds are optimized to meet production, quality, and delivery targets within a safe and lean work environment.

You will lead a team of skilled tradespeople and collaborate across Engineering, Production, and Quality departments to support plant-wide goals. Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership: Plan and direct daily shop operations, including new mold builds, modifications, and emergency repairs. Maintenance Strategy: Implement and manage predictive and preventive maintenance (PM) programs to minimize downtime and extend tool life.

Technical Troubleshooting: Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for complex tooling issues. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Engineering on mold design reviews (DFM/DFA) and support Production with efficient changeovers and startup readiness. Resource Management: Manage the shop budget, including labor, spare parts inventory, and capital expenditures.

Source and oversee third-party vendors for specialized repairs. Continuous Improvement: Drive Lean, 5S, and TPM initiatives to enhance safety, quality, and cost-efficiency. Compliance: Maintain rigorous documentation, including mold history and work orders, while ensuring adherence to safety and environmental regulations.

Qualifications Experience: 3-5 years of leadership experience in a mold shop environment, ideally within the automotive components sector. Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of plastic injection molding tooling, hot runners, cooling systems, and metallurgy. Skills: Proficiency in CNC machining, EDM, grinding, and mold assembly.

Electrical Aptitude: Ability to troubleshoot mold position signals, proximity sensors, limit switches, and thermocouples. Analytical Ability: Strong skills in blueprint reading, CAD interpretation, and GD&T. Leadership: Proven ability to manage priorities, meet urgent deadlines, and build high-performing teams.

Education: High school diploma or GED required; an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Tool & Die, or Manufacturing is preferred.
