Job description

Position Summary

1. Meet customers' needs by achieving the production target through production progress management.
2. Achieve production target by managing production forecast and production KPI (Key Performance Indicator).

Role and Responsibilities

Role Purpose

This position is responsible for the overall injection operational process. The Injection Mold Supervisor should ensure that all of the injection machines is running properly and that the members of the technical team are properly trained and supervise activities related and manpower saving through innovative process improvement. The person also should ensure compliance with environmental safety regulations and sustainable management.

Responsibilities

Develop molding processes for fiber reinforced thermoplastic/thermoset materials.

Operate injection / compression molding equipment.

Lead technical activities related to new product development efforts from tool design through prototype delivery and production planning.

Analyze / interpret inspection data for process and tool optimization.

Be responsible for providing manufacturing feasibility analysis for prototype and production volumes.

Lead design for manufacturing reviews and PFMEA efforts.

Identify manufacturing resource requirements and prepare plans for product and process realization.

Ensure proper process control documentation and lessons learned information is generated for assigned projects.

Develop and execute manufacturing qualification plans for process validation.

Support harvest and continuous improvement projects in the plastics value stream.

Other responsibilities as assigned by management; job duties may change at any time with or without notice

Background, Experience& Qualifications

Minimum 5 years' experience developing & validating manufacturing processes for engineered plastic materials required.

Demonstrated expertise with injection molding processes, materials, tooling and equipment troubleshooting is required; Preference given to candidates who also have injection molding experience of elastomers.

Hands-on experience operating injection molding equipment on the shop floor, and a desire to be in a hands-on technical role, working alongside operators is required.

Hands on experience with Scientific Molding is required, including viscosity studies on tools, strong understanding of material flow, experience establishing process parameters (pressure/temperature/distance/time), effective controls of the processes, gate seal studies, cooling studies, and process optimization including hands-on troubleshooting.

Demonstrated experience ensuring established processes for injection molding are robust and repeatable and ready for production scale-up is required.

Experience successfully managing multiple projects in parallel and resolving schedule, budget and resource conflicts is preferred.

Skills and Qualifications

Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action

Normally receives general instructions on routine work with detailed instructions on new projects or assignments
