Hiring Opportunity: Zanesville Ohio
Our client is looking to hire a melt shop process lead for their plant in Zanesville Ohio! Our client is a leader in environmentally beneficial reclamation of spent oil refinement.
The melt shop process lead would be responsible for managing all aspects of the melt shop including maintaining a saft work environment, maintaining environmental compliance, driving production results, and improving quality procedures.
Qualified candidates would have experience with overseeing operations within a melt shop, and a firm understanding of lean manufacturing.
Job Responsibilities:
- The melt shop process lead establishes department goals and provides direction, guidance, and development opportunities for melt shop operations supervisors and employees
- Lead by example and set expectations for compliance with all internal and external safety and environmental regulations, policies, procedures, and systems; promote a culture of safety, environmental responsibility, and employee engagement
- Work closely with plant safety and environmental management to ensure that the highest standards of safety and environmental safeguards are developed and maintained; ensure grounds, buildings, equipment, machines, processes, service and repairs are consistent with relevant OSHA and EPA regulations, industry codes and/or standards; ensure required tests, evaluations, and assessments are performed on schedule and immediately address any deficiencies
- Establish production schedules and labor requirements to achieve required production goals and objectives
- Review and analyze production volume, cost, quality, equipment maintenance, and labor utilization to drive and optimize melt shop production results
- Identify and resolve non-conformances, implement corrective actions, and report issues of concern to the plant manager
- Develop, track, and report critical KPI"s on established reporting schedule; drive results to achieve company financial goals
- Lead melt shop operations supervisors; develop and audit performance expectations; coach for improved performance; document any corrective actions and ensure compliance with training and development plans
- Investigate employee issues and address consistent with guidance from plant manager and human resources
- Identify and evaluate continuous improvement opportunities in Melt Shop; engage frontline employees in continuous improvement and problem-solving initiatives in the melt shop
- Work collaboratively with operations leadership, engineering, and purchasing to identify, develop and execute capital projects; engage in evaluation of critical melt shop suppliers
- Utilize Lean principles to optimize processes, systems, people, and equipment
Job Qualifications:
- Experience overseeing a melt shop
- Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building, and communication skills (verbal and written) required
- Team player with demonstrated ability to foster employee engagement
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles required; demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement
- Strong mechanical aptitude, logical reasoning, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to adapt easily to change and lead others through it
- Excellent attention to detail, time management, organization and follow through skills
- Ability to work flexible hours as required
- Possess a thorough understanding of relevant industry codes, OSHA and EPA regulations
