Job description

Position Summary Job Description: The part-time Machine Shop Supervisor will supervise and assist students working on student design projects in the machine shop. This includes oversight of machine operation and safety throughout the shop. The Machine Shop Supervisor will maintain the machine shop, its equipment, and supplies during assigned work hours, including storage of tooling, shop cleanliness, and machine operation.

The Machine Shop Supervisor will communicate shop issues and needs with the Machine Shop Manager. Outcome: Safe operation of the machine shop and appropriate maintenance of the machines within the shop. Essential Functions Open and oversee the machine shop during assigned hours 60% Provide for appropriate preventative maintenance on shop equipment 30% Work with Machine Shop Manager to make purchases for shop 10% Experience and Education Required Experience in a professional and/or an educational machine shop Experience with mill and lathe operation Required Skills and Qualifications Knowledge of professional machine shop safety and procedures Ability to lift 50 lbs Experience with engineering design Additional Information York College of Pennsylvania is an Equal Opportunity Employer and Non-Discriminatory.
