Job description

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Fabrication Shop Supervisor to oversee daily operations,

production, quality, safety, materials, and a team of approximately 35 employees. The ideal

candidate will have strong steel fabrication, welding, blueprint reading, and leadership

experience.


Key Responsibilities

 Supervise and lead 10-15 fabrication employees.

 Schedule production, workflow, and material deliveries.

 Read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings.

 Oversee steel fabrication and carbon steel welding operations.

 Monitor quality, productivity, safety, and deadlines.

 Manage and order materials, supplies, and shop equipment.

 Oversee proper use of fabrication equipment and overhead cranes.

 Troubleshoot production issues and provide solutions.

 Maintain a safe, clean, and organized shop.

 Assist with hands-on fabrication when needed.

 Communicate effectively with employees, management, and vendors.


Required Qualifications

 5–10 years of supervisory/industrial management experience.

 10+ years of steel fabrication experience.

 Extensive carbon steel welding and fabrication knowledge.

 Strong blueprint, measurement, and mathematical skills.

 Strong mechanical aptitude.

 Experience managing materials and production schedules.

 Proven ability to lead a team of 10-15 employees.

 Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

 Knowledge of workplace safety requirements.

 Willingness to work overtime as needed.


Work Environment

Manufacturing/fabrication shop environment with exposure to welding, noise, steel, machinery,

chemicals, and overhead cranes. Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50

pounds.
