Job Summary:

The Sign Shop Manager oversees the daily operations of the sign shop, including the design, production, and installation of signage and marketing materials. This role supervises operations, manages inventory and equipment, and is responsible for the warehouse space designated to the sign shop. The Manager ensures projects are completed accurately, on time, and in alignment with company branding and operational standards. This position may occasionally support company-hosted sales events for excess or discontinued signage and materials.


Duties & Responsibilities:

• Plan, organize, and manage daily sign shop operations, including design, printing, fabrication, finishing, and distribution of signage and marketing materials.

• Maintain an organized, clean, and safe shop and designated warehouse area to ensure efficient workflow and maximum floor utilization.

• Coordinate with warehouse personnel for receiving, loading, unloading, storage, and distribution of materials and shipments.

• Manage inventory levels, order supplies as needed and ensure accurate stocking and material control.

• Design and prepare sign layouts using approved software in alignment with company brand standards.

• Ensure proper operation, routine maintenance, and safe use of printers, cutters, laminators, and related equipment.

• Maintain quality control standards to ensure accuracy, consistency, and timely completion of all projects.

• Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Warehouse teams to meet internal needs and deadlines while delivering a high level of internal customer service.

• Designate a forklift operator as needed; use pallet jack (or other powered industrial equipment), or coordinate with designated operators to move materials and equipment as needed.

• Comply with company policies and safety procedures and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Job Requirements:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience with graphic design and sign production software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator or similar).
• Working knowledge of signage materials, printing processes, and finishing techniques.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Proven ability to supervise employees and manage workflow efficiently.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of related sign production, print shop, or warehouse supervisory experience.
• Ability to operate forklift (preferred); pallet jack.


Physical Demands:

• Regularly required to use hands for handling, grasping, and reaching.
• Frequent standing, walking, stooping, or kneeling.
• Sitting, climbing, and balancing.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly.


Unavoidable Hazards (Work Environment):

Involves frequent, occasional, and routine exposure to:
• Warehouse and production environments with moving equipment and machinery.
• Exposure to printing materials, inks, and shop equipment.
• Other extreme hazards not listed above.


Special Certifications and Licenses:

· Must possess and maintain a valid state Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.

· Must be able to pass criminal background and drug screen.
