SUPERVISOR – PAINT SHOPPosition Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Paint Shop Supervisor to join our team at Thrush. The ideal candidate will oversee daily operations in the Paint Shop—including small and large paint booths, surface preparation, sandblast operations, and alodine/chemical treatment tanks—ensuring high-quality finishes, safety compliance, and efficient workflow to meet aircraft manufacturing deadlines.

Reports To: Backshops and Facilities Manager

Essential Job Functions:
  • Ensure all employees are in assigned work areas (paint booths, prep, sandblast, alodine) and working productively; maintain accurate ADP timekeeping.
  • Communicate daily on paint shop status, including schedule updates and any process or equipment issues affecting production.
  • Ensure all manufacturing orders, paint documentation, and quality sign-offs are accurate and complete.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area and enforce safety and PPE requirements, including hazardous materials handling.
  • Improve paint shop processes, workflow, scheduling, and part movement to increase efficiency and reduce rework.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong communication and computer skills, including Excel, Word, and Email.
  • Working knowledge of aircraft paint processes and chemical systems to lead by example and improve operations.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to schedule and workflow changes.
  • Demonstrated teamwork and willingness to assist other departments as needed.
Education and Experience:
  • Minimum of 3–5 years in a supervisory role.
  • Experience in paint, coatings, blasting, or chemical processing in an aerospace or industrial environment preferred.
