Hourly Pay: $23 USD

Job Summary

The Painter/Finisher position will be responsible for preparing and applying water and solvent-based primer, paint, clear coat and similar finishes to materials such as wood, plastic and metal. The Painter/Finisher will use various application techniques including HVLP, spray can, brushes and rollers. Painter/Finisher is responsible for inspecting and approving prepared surfaces prior to painting, assisting in material prep (sanding, masking, setup) supply inventory, organization and clean up. What You'll Do...

  • Paint specialty items- Apply water and solvent-based primer, paint, stain, varnish, clear coat and or other finishes to custom cut lettering, fabricated structures and hardware made of wood, steel, aluminum, plexigass, plywood, MDF, sign foam, sintra and similar materials.
  • Adhere to production schedule, review work orders and GLOs, establish and delegate priorities.
  • Oder paint and supplies
  • Ensure materials are delivered to paint department on-time
  • Oversee and care for paint department tool assets, paint and supply inventory insuring proper organization, cleaning and maintenance of paint storage, mixing area, paint booth and surrounding workspaces.
  • Oversee and instruct painter II & III production techniques and finishes according to SOP
  • Calculate paint volume and estimate time per job.
  • Attend production meeting and product reviews as needed.
  • Inspect projects prior to delivery
  • Advise tools, paints, finishes, processes and techniques for projects.
  • Inspect all prepared surfaces prior to painting to ensure impeccable finished results.
  • Assist in preparing surfaces for painting: Fill cracks, holes and imperfections, sand by hand, pneumatic, electric, drum and belt sander. Apply primer with brush, roller and spray or other fillers to provide finishes as required.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Ability to work at a fast pace under pressure
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently and in teams
  • Comply with all personnel, departmental and safety policies
  • Read and understand work orders, tech drawings, cut sheets and written instructions
  • Other duties as assigned by team lead and/or Supervisor

Requirements

What You'll Bring...

  • Knowledge of the tools, equipment, materials, and application techniques common to the painting trade. Automotive paint finishes, a plus.
  • Knowledge and skill in hazardous material handling, application, and disposal.
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to kneel, bend, sit, stand, walk for long periods of time.
  • Communication and Language Skills: Must write and speak English clearly. Spanish speaking a plus
