Mailroom Associate, Lockbox Operations
Pay Rate: Up to $16.50 per hour
Employment Type: Temporary, potential for future conversion
Department: Treasury Management Operations, Wholesale Lockbox
Position Overview
Our client is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Mailroom Associate to support high-volume Wholesale Lockbox operations. This production-focused position is responsible for receiving, sorting, preparing, and distributing incoming and outgoing mail while operating automated mail-processing equipment.
The ideal candidate has previous lockbox, mailroom, banking operations, document processing, or similar high-volume production experience and is comfortable working under strict deadlines and productivity expectations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail daily
  • Scan incoming priority, express, certified, and FedEx packages as required
  • Operate the automated MPS40 mail sorter efficiently and accurately
  • Prepare incoming mail for delivery to appropriate processing areas within the lockbox department
  • Ensure timely delivery of mail to processors on the production floor
  • Receive completed batches from the production floor and prepare them for outgoing mail
  • Sort and stage completed lockbox batches into the appropriate mail-out bins
  • Set up mail bins for incoming and outgoing accounts
  • Print, organize, and maintain required mail-out labels
  • Review rejected items and ensure issues are addressed before established mail-out deadlines
  • Monitor postal and courier deliveries and pickups for timeliness
  • Assist with researching mailroom errors and identifying potential root causes
  • Complete required daily reports accurately and on time
  • Perform basic cleaning and routine maintenance of assigned mail-processing equipment
  • Escalate equipment, processing, or service issues to management when necessary
  • Work closely with management and production staff to ensure Service Level Agreements, SLAs, are achieved
  • Assist with training and cross-training team members as needed
  • Maintain established production, quality, accuracy, and processing standards
  • Perform additional mailroom and lockbox duties as assigned

Required Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 1 to 3 years of lockbox or related experience required
  • Previous experience working in a production-oriented environment with strict processing deadlines
  • Basic computer skills and ability to use standard office equipment, including telephone, fax, and adding machine
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to accurately interpret information and follow detailed written and verbal instructions
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a deadline-driven, production-focused environment
  • Ability to remain at work until daily processing is completed
  • Must be available to work overtime as needed
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position, including frequent bending, lifting, twisting, turning, sitting, and standing for extended periods
  • Must successfully complete required background screening and drug screening
