WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • The Manager, NA Localization Coordination & Procurement has a pivotal role in Hyundai's strategic response to U.S. regulatory trade by driving cost reduction initiatives and accelerating the localization of parts across strategic regional operations.
  • This position has a primary localization territory of North America and will coordinate with purchasing and cross-functional teams to drive localization performance to meet tariff mitigation objectives. Hyundai's competitiveness and resilience in a dynamic trade environment. 
HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
  • Localization Strategy Execution: manage initiatives to localize key components and materials in North America, reducing tariff exposure and improving supply chain agility.
  • Localization Projects: Identify and track localization opportunities with localization system teams utilizing data analytics and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Conduct market analysis to identify potential local suppliers, negotiate contracts and pricing terms with suppliers to achieve cost savings and favorable terms for the organization.
  • Engage cross-functional teams in supplier selection, development, and evaluation processes and closely work with regional coordinators & Purchasing teams.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Work closely with Hyundai affiliates for manufacturing and R&D to align localization and cost strategies with engineering, quality, and production teams at each manufacturing site.
  • Supplier Engagement & Development: Support the evaluation and onboarding of local suppliers, ensuring alignment with Hyundai's quality, cost, and delivery terms and conditions.
  • Tariff & Trade Analysis: Assess impact of tariff and trade changes on localization strategies and recommend mitigation actions.
  • Performance Reporting: Support maintaining dashboards and reports to track localization progress, supplier performance metrics.
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager to support key team objectives.
  • Problem Solving: Partners with leadership to develop resolution of operational and strategic challenges related to localization and supplier performance. Escalates high-impact issues to senior leadership as needed.
  • Conduct meetings, as needed, with cross-functional team. 
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred.
  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree a plus.
  • Six or more years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or manufacturing operations, preferably in the automotive industry.
  • Experience with cost optimization and localization strategies is necessary.
  • Proven track record in cost optimization, supplier management, and managing the information/activities of international trade regulations.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. tariffs and global trade dynamics.
  • Proficiency in cost analysis, supplier development, and project management.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Familiarity with procurement systems and data analytics tools.
  • Cross-cultural experience is a plus.
  • Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach.
  • Results-oriented and proactive.
  • Collaborative and adaptable in a fast-paced, global environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
WHAT HYUNDAI CAN OFFER YOU
  • Compensation Range: $91,000 - $130,000 annual base salary
  • Monthly Hyundai/Genesis vehicle lease allowance (including insurance and maintenance)
  • Holiday Pay - the company shuts down with pay between Christmas and New Years.
