We are hiring a Vice President, Business Developmentto lead new client acquisition and build a scalable, disciplined growth engine – integrating Sales + Marketing (“Smarketing”) and leveraging our AI-enabled commercial stack.

Role overview

The VP, Business Development is a senior commercial leader responsible for pipeline creation, opportunity conversion, and new revenue growth. This role works closely with IBT Online leadership and is accountable for building a repeatable go-to-market motion – process, tools, messaging, and performance discipline.

Key responsibilities
  • Build and maintain a high-quality pipeline aligned with our ICP and service priorities.
  • Maintain forecasting discipline and accurate pipeline reporting.
  • Lead Sales–Marketing alignment: definitions (MQL/SQL), handoffs, follow-up SLAs, lifecycle stages.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to improve lead quality, conversion rates, and message-market fit.
  • Use performance reporting and attribution to guide decisions and iteration.
  • Build and manage an ICP-aligned account universe and prioritization model.
  • Execute consistent outbound motions (email, LinkedIn, partner outreach, targeted campaigns).
  • Use discovery to qualify quickly and professionally (budget, authority, need, timing).
  • Develop and expand partnerships that create access to qualified decision-makers.
  • Build credibility through networks and targeted market presence.
  • Identify vertical/segment opportunities and help refine offers and positioning.
Playbooks, messaging, and GTM discipline
  • Get to know and understand IBT Online’s existing playbooks, outbound frameworks, messaging/talk tracks, and go-to-market (GTM) processes – and then evolve, update, and operationalize them as required to achieve consistent commercial success.
Required
  • Proven B2B business development and closing experience (services/agency, SaaS-enabled services, consultative selling).
  • Track record selling to owner-operators and/or C-suite stakeholders.
  • Strong discovery and qualification discipline; ability to run multi-stakeholder buying processes.
  • Comfort operating as both strategist and hands-on operator.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal); executive presence.
  • Marketing and sales certifications (e.g., HubSpot, Google, Meta, Salesforce, MEDDICC / Challenger / consultative selling certifications).
Preferred
  • 5+ years of digital marketing agency experience (consultative selling environment preferred).
  • HubSpot familiarity and disciplined CRM hygiene.
  • Experience selling marketing, ecommerce, websites, and/or localization services.
  • Experience building playbooks, outbound frameworks, and Sales–Marketing operating rhythms.
  • Strong “human-led, AI-enhanced” approach to productivity and enablement.
  • Learn IBT Online’s services, ICP, messaging, and commercial stack.
  • Build an initial target account list and begin structured outbound activity.
  • Establish a forecasting and reporting rhythm with leadership.
First 90 days
  • Refine messaging and talk tracks based on real market feedback.
  • Generate consistent qualified opportunities and a predictable activity cadence.
  • Improve Sales–Marketing alignment (Smarketing) with clear definitions and SLAs.
  • Deliver predictable closed-won new revenue aligned with our service priorities.
  • Maintain consistent pipeline coverage and forecast accuracy.
  • Provide recommendations for scale (enablement, RevOps discipline, and hiring needs where appropriate).
