Job description

Position: ROTA Nanny / Family Assistant
Location: Los Angeles, CA (with travel to San Francisco)
Schedule: ROTA (7 days on / 7 days off) | 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Compensation: Competitive, DOE + Benefits
Accommodation: Live-out during rotation (guest accommodations provided when traveling)
Overview
A warm, busy, and high-profile family is seeking an experienced and flexible ROTA Nanny / Family Assistant to support the care of their growing family. The role will primarily focus on their 1-year-old daughter.
The family is looking for a career nanny who is nurturing, organized, and proactive—someone who can become a trusted, long-term presence in the home and confidently manage multiple children as the family grows.
This is a dynamic role requiring flexibility, particularly during busy season (November - February), when travel between Los Angeles and San Francisco will be required.
Schedule & Structure
  • ROTA schedule: 7 days on / 7 days off
  • Working hours: 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM during rotation
  • Two nannies will share the schedule
  • Flexibility required during travel and busy periods
Travel
  • Primary residence: Los Angeles, CA
  • Seasonal travel to San Francisco (November-February, approximately 3 months) - must be available to stay in San Francisco during this time.
  • Live-in accommodations provided during travel (guest house)
  • Open to candidates based in LA (live-out when not traveling)
Responsibilities
Childcare
  • Provide attentive, developmentally appropriate care for a 1-year-old
  • Support transitions as the child becomes more mobile (walking stage)
  • Assist with newborn care once the second baby arrives (in partnership with baby nurse initially)
  • Confidently manage care for multiple children as the family grows
  • Maintain routines, including sleep schedules and feeding
Household Support (Child-Focused)
  • Maintain a clean, organized nursery and children's spaces
  • Handle children's laundry, bottles, dishes, and daily tidying
  • Assist with organizing baby items, clothing, and supplies
  • Open packages, manage inventory of baby essentials
General Family Support
  • Light errands and household support as needed
  • Comfortable around a small family dog (doodle)
  • Driving support is a plus
Ideal Candidate
  • Career nanny with strong experience in infant and toddler care
  • Confident managing multiple young children
  • Highly organized, clean, and detail-oriented
  • Proactive with a no-task-too-small mindset
  • Flexible and comfortable with travel and changing schedules
  • Warm, engaging, and interested in becoming part of a family long-term
  • Ideally at a stage in life with flexibility for a demanding schedule
Additional Notes
  • The family currently employs a baby nurse and has had excellent experiences with newborn care support
  • Father has a demanding schedule and is largely unavailable, so the nanny will play a key role in daily structure
  • Housekeepers come twice per week, but the nanny should be comfortable maintaining daily organization
