Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced In-House Counsel to provide legal guidance and strategic support across the firm's operations. This role will advise leadership on business, compliance, risk management, contract matters, and legal disputes, while helping ensure the firm's continued growth and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate is a proactive attorney who delivers practical, business-focused legal solutions and serves as a trusted advisor to firm leadership.
Responsibilities
Corporate & Operational Support
  • Draft, review, and negotiate vendor agreements, service contracts, NDAs, and other business agreements
  • Advise on operational risk management and compliance matters
  • Support firm leadership with strategic business initiatives and legal analysis
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, finance, marketing, intake, and HR departments

Compliance & Risk Management
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations
  • Develop internal compliance protocols and best practices
  • Assist with litigation management involving the firm, including coordination with outside counsel when necessary
  • Maintain awareness of evolving legal and regulatory developments impacting the firm

General Counsel Functions
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership
  • Provide practical, business-focused legal solutions
  • Assist with special projects and firm-wide initiatives as needed

Lien Resolution & Fee Disputes
  • Handle and oversee attorney fee disputes, lien disputes, and reimbursement claims arising from personal injury matters
  • Negotiate resolution of medical liens, provider liens, subrogation claims, and contractual reimbursement demands
  • Respond to and manage disputes involving former counsel, referral fee agreements, and attorney liens
  • Coordinate with outside counsel when litigation or arbitration becomes necessary
  • Advise attorneys and leadership regarding ethical obligations and risk exposure related to liens and fee allocations
  • Develop internal procedures and best practices for lien and fee dispute management

Compensation:
$180,000+ (commensurate with experience and qualifications)
