Direct Counsel is seeking an Insurance Litigation Associate Attorney to join a well-established national law firm in its Los Angeles office. This role is ideal for an attorney who wants meaningful responsibility, strong mentorship, and the opportunity to work with major insurance industry clients.

About the Role
The firm is looking for an Associate Attorney with 3โ€“5 years of litigation experience, preferably with exposure to insurance matters. The ideal candidate is a motivated litigator who can manage a steady volume of cases, enjoys autonomy, and values being part of a collaborative, development-focused team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Litigate matters across multiple insurance lines, including health, life, long-term care, disability, property & casualty, and annuity products.

  • Work directly with clients and engage with insurance industry groups early in your career.

  • Support regulatory, compliance, and transactional matters involving claims, product sales and marketing, anti-fraud issues, governance, holding company regulations, investment matters, and market conduct.

  • Participate in business development initiatives within a respected insurance practice.

Requirements

  • 3โ€“5 years of litigation experience

  • Active California Bar admission

  • Strong writing, communication, and case-management skills

Compensation
