Job description

Colombo & Colombo, P.C. seeks to hire an attorney with 3+ years' experience to join its litigation team to work on-site in its Bloomfield Hills office.

Colombo & Colombo, P.C. is a niche legal firm with deep roots in Detroit’s automotive retail industry. This position offers an outstanding opportunity for exposure to a wide range of civil matters and public speaking. In addition to litigation, the position may also involve contract review and drafting and other transactional matters for our automotive retail clients.

The associate attorney will work under the guidance of the firm’s senior attorneys, who continue to pass down the expertise and experience that have fueled our success for more than 115 years. The ideal candidate will have experience in and will handle the following on a day-to-day basis: independently managing case files, engaging in legal research, preparing motions, pleadings, and other court documents, taking depositions, and representing clients at hearings, mediations, and trials.

Our ideal candidate will have 5-6 years of litigation experience, will possess solid academic credentials and outstanding communication skills, as well as strong research, writing and negotiation skills.

Only applicants admitted to the Michigan Bar or those eligible to be admitted will be considered.

Colombo & Colombo, P.C. provides its attorneys with opportunities for rapid growth in the legal field, while offering an environment that is supportive and values a work-life balance with a realistic billable hour requirement.

The salary range for this position is $160,000 - $170,000 depending on experience and other factors. The associate attorney will also have the opportunity to earn additional compensation on new business referred to the firm and will be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
