About this Job Northwestern State University Shreveport Campus is looking for a community-oriented Campus Security Officer to support a safe learning environment for our students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Unlike standard security roles, this position serves as a highly visible campus ambassador. You will balance vigilance with approachability, acting as a first responder while fostering positive relationships within the diverse university community.

Minimum Qualifications Education: High School Diploma or GED Skills: Exceptional de-escalation and communication skills are required to handle student conflicts and high-stress situations calmly. Licensing: Valid driver's license with a clean record

Job Duties and Other Information Patrols an assigned area. Checks security of buildings and grounds. Monitors alarm panels and cameras for disturbances.

Receives and transmits messages over two way radio. Follow directives issued by supervisor. Checks identification of persons who enter facilities or grounds.

Monitors alarm boards for signs of disturbances. Conducts preliminary investigations relevant to disturbances within an assigned area. Interviews disturbances in order to restore peace.
